Joseph's Room

As most of you probably guessed, Joseph's room will be airplane themed! We don't have his room completely put together yet, but here is a sneak peek at his bedding. Pretty cute if I do say so myself!

20 Week Belly Pics

Well we made it! 20 weeks, half way! Hard to believe that we are already half way. It doesn't seem like it has been that long already. Joseph is growing everyday (as evidenced by my belly) and having routine dance parties in the womb! I am feeling good and am very thankful for that!

It's A BOY!

We went to the doctor this morning for our 19 week visit. Every thing looks great! We found out that our sweet baby is a boy, and that he weighs about 11oz! His name will be Donald Joseph Powell, III, but we will call him Joseph! As you can imagine he will have an airplane themed room and his daddy is on the ball finding cute stuff to go in it! Joseph is still measuring a little further along than the calendar says he is, but right now it is not enough of a difference to change the due date, so Christmas Eve it is for now!

On a side note DJ and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary last week. Our actual anniversary is July 28th, but since DJ had to work that day we went out to eat this past weekend for a nice dinner at Mint! It was perfect!

16 week updates

I went to the doctor for our 16 week appointment on Wednesday. Everything is fine! I was actually measuring 17 weeks even though I was only 16.5! If the baby keeps measuring bigger, they might move the due date up. The baby's heart rate was 150 and was nice and strong! So far, so good! Since we didn't have a sonogram this time you will just have to be satisfied with belly shots!

Butterbean's 12 week pics

We went for our 12 week appointment on June 15th, all was well and we got to see our sweet baby! I love that you can see his/her little foot and toes and hand covering his/her face! We learned several things at this appointment: 1) as of right now there are no signs of Down Syndrome or anything else abnormal; 2) Baby's heart rate is in the 140's and baby is 5 almost 6 cm; and 3) Baby has a bit of an attitude if provoked!
At first Baby was coorperative, on his/her back and perfectly still, allowing the doc to take good pics look at the heart beat, etc. Well then the doc needed to look from a different angle, but Baby wouldn't move. So the doctor pressed a little hader. That did not go over well with Baby, because all of a sudden he/she started kicking and pushing back with it's feet. He/she then flipped over in his/her side grabbed it's ear with one hand and covered it's face with this other! Baby said "I'm done, quit messing with me!" Thankfully he/she rolled the way the doc needed and she was able to finish the sonogram! If this is any indication of personality, we are going to have our hands full!

Beach Trip

The week before Memorial Day we went to the beach with Aunt Mae and family. It was wonderful! I went down before DJ and navigated my way through Pensacola to pick him up at the airport so that he could enjoy the beach too! I had a blast relaxing, while DJ got worn out by Swayze, Jake and Justin!

We were able to enjoy the beach and water in the evenings. Thanks to Gina we have some wonderful pictures!

Even butterbean enjoyed the beach! And as Aunt Mae put it "I think that we adapt very well to the beach!" It is strange to think that next year we will have a 5 month old when beach trip time comes around again! I can't wait!

Baby Powell

Meet Baby Powell! DJ and I learned that we were pregnant (and by we I mean me) about 4 weeks ago! We were elated! We went to my doctor on April 20 only to find out that it was too early to see anything! We had to wait 4 LONG weeks before going back on May 14, and voila...we got the first pictures of our sweet baby! We were absolutely amazed to hear the strong heart beat and see the little hands forming already! We got a good report. They baby looks great, I am about 8 weeks along and our due date is Christmas Eve! I think I can safely say that this will be the best Christmas that we have ever had!
